  Lovely pub, excellent room and view. Very friendly and helpful staff. Steep stairs to room but it was worth it for the view. Breakfast was big and yummy!

  Be wary when ordering drinks at the bar here. I ordered a Vodka/Tonic and a pint of Guinness and was charged over £11. When I challenged the manager over the extortionate cost, he confirmed that The George Inn charges over £3 for a tiny bottle of Tonic Water. No alternative was offered, and no warning giving before the bottle was opened and poured into my glass by the Staff. The manager merely gave a glib response stating that "Well it is the best Tonic Water in the world"
  
  In my opinion it tasted no better than much cheaper Tonic Waters.
  Seems to me to be just a sharp practise from a rip off management.
  
  I did not want to create a scene, however I will not ever return to this establishment.

  I went here for lunch on my birthday and had been looking forward to it. We arrived and we're pleased to find the much coveted seats by the fire were free which was good.
  The guy behind the bar came over and told my order which was a good touch. He handed us a menu also and left us allow to make are minds up. The beer was very good and I was looking forward to have more.
  We order and was told that sorry but we had the wrong menu and please could we order off the one. OK fine... we tried ordering off the next menu and the man had to again apologies and told me that they did not have what we wanted.
  I did not fancy any off the items they did have so gave up and finished are drinks and went.
  I was disappointed as I was looking forward to this lunch, the guy behind the bar was very apologetic and do not think it was he's fault. If you are going to offer lunch then the management needs to make sure the the can supply lunch.
